BAFA export

The MFS coils are subject of export control by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Our offers will include the following paragraph:
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RE-DISTRIBUTE THE MFS‑06E/MFS‑07E COILS OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY, U.S.A. and CANADA. BEFORE SELLING THE COILS TO OTHER COUNTRIES CONTACT YOUR CUSTOMS OFFICE. THE MFS‑06E/MFS‑07E BELONGS TO THE EAN / CCL NUMBER 6A006; Stat. Code 90158011. Stat. code of other geophysical goods is 90159000.

What dies this mean:
In case you want to re-sell the coils you must get a export license for the country you want to re-sell.
In case of exploration (like oil exploration, minerals, water and so on) you are NOT LIMITED in usage of the coils world-wide.
Before Metronix gets the export license from the BAFA you need to

We have THREE cases

  • End user (institute, company) == Buyer And shipment is directly to end user
    example
  • End user (institute, company)  gets the system from agency
    example
  • End user (institute, company) gets the system from the agency BUT shipment is to a local warehouse company FIRST
    example
  • or - same as above: End user uses warehouse address for shipment

All documents have to be written official office paper, signed by hand and stamped duly.

The BAFA does not accept fax.

Why is this necessary

The MFS coils have a extreme low noise level.
Therefore the coils are registered as "dual use". Dual use means: military usage and civil usage.
Military usage is forbidden outside Europe.
Therefore  the German export control (BAFA) wants to know the end user (final destination).
The BAFA will check the institute or company. In case of University or mining / exploration company you will get permission.
This can take between 6-12 weeks, depending whether the institute is know or not.
